First Day of Pre-School!

Today many of my teacher friends and children went back to school.  It was hard to see so many back-to-school facebook posts; after 8 years of teaching, this year is my first without my own.  However, I got to share in the joy for our son because today was HIS first day of SCHOOL! AH!

Cohen is going to a preschool at my mom's church here in Tulsa.  He will be going three days a week for now so I can get some more work done.  Once our store officially opens, I'll need him to go to school five days a week, but we are easing into it.  He had a great first day ;-) We are going to try to keep a similar schedule at home and then start the weaning process. (Almost at one year old now!!) Then we shall tackle the sleeping....again......

To all my teacher friends, I hope you have a wonderful school year.  Please keep loving on those kiddos - I know I will be helping Cohen's teachers with a different perspective now.  I am slowly getting more and more pieces of the business together, and am really hoping to 'teach' through the store. Or maybe I can find a teaching outlet up here eventually as well! We are truly blessed in this life!

11 months

Cohen,
Today you are 11 months old. ELEVEN!

You are growing big and strong. You are over 21 lbs and still wearing your 9 month onsies- we have pulled out a few 12 month items as well. This has been the longest you've been in one size :). We have bumped up to 12-18 in Pjs however.

You LOVE the alphabet train. You've gone from noticing the toy to manipulating the letters and putting them down the shoot. It's still your favorite walker of choice and the best
way you chase your puppies.

You aren't walking unassisted, you've started to stand by yourself. We all thought you'd be cruising by now, but not yet!  You use furniture or anything you can find to be your walker.

Your babble makes a bit more sense. Susan heard you say kitty cat, and I can get da for dog on most days. We carry on conversations- super cute.

You have completely dropped your morning nursing session and eat breakfast with momma. Some favorites include LIFE cereal, whole milk yogurt, and water.

You've gone from sitting Indian style to sitting while squatting. I think it's easier to spring up to your knees from this position but it looks so uncomfortable!

You got your first haircut!

Aaaaand we Moved to Tulsa!

You had your first ear infection :( and you spent the entire month on two antibiotics (amoxicillin and suprax)...which didn't make your dirty diapers much fun

First tooth...teeth! The bottom two are here- nursing has been a bit more precarious. It's taken several weeks for them to appear. The second didn't seem to bother you as much as the first.

You LoVE the Fridge and Dishwasher

You've learned to high-five, to turn the lights on and off, and that it's more fun to feed the dogs from your highchair than to actually eat your meal. Oh yeah, and the bathroom is your favorite playroom.

You are infatuated with men- especially your grandpa :)

You had your first formula added to the night bottle. Enfamil you wouldn't touch, Similac you like...jury is still out if its helping you sleep. (Btw it didn't- so we are back to breast milk)

You are still up every couple of hours to nurse at night... Le sigh.

The pointer finger is out in full force :)

You are in your big boy carseats. We gave the infant carrier to Ace, so we installed the rear facing next step up in our cars. Those things are giants!

We love you so very much. I can't believe you are almost a year old! Where did these months go?  Mamma's been treasuring holding you through some of your naps because you are just growing too fast. Pretty soon you are going to preschool and will be a little toddler! Where did our baby go?!?

First Haircut!

Cohen,

Yesterday (8/10) you had your first haircut.  Of course, your aunt Audrey, was the one to give it to you.  We spent the day painting and decorating their new house and finished with the big 'new-do.'

You really just needed the long wisp on top cut and some over your ears.  It was a trim, at best, and took all of 5 minutes.

Before!

The big cut...

I think my Aunt Audrey is cute, but what's in that belly?!?

Are we done yet?

After!!
I know the before and after are staggeringly different.  Or not.  But, we trimmed up some of the strangly strangs.  And yes, I kept them.  I can't tape them to this blog so I guess at some point I'll need to start scrapbooking again.  In my free time.

Blessings
